His knowledge is immense and his achievements are too many to list, on a few pages. The Professor was the Dean of the University of Pune Medical School for almost half a century. (It's the Cambridge University of India and among the top medical schools in the world.) He has taught (and continues to teach) hundreds of students from all over the world. Author of over 130 books on Ayurvedic surgery and translations of classical vedic texts to diet and lifestyle advice, the Professor continues to inspire as he travels the world on lecture tours.

He is the President of the following organisations:
- The International Ayurveda Association
- The European Academy of Ayurveda
- Former President of Tilak Ayurveda College
- The Ayurveda Rasashala (Research oriented manufacturing Institute)
- The Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal (founded in 1924)

The Professor's leadership has earned a worldwide reputation in Ayurveda and the complementary disciplines of medicine. He has given his knowledge freely to these Institutes and has worked relentlessly to ensure all Ayurveda Doctors and students under his wing have a very high standard and a thorough understanding of this profound science. In April 2009 he addressed the Second International Ayurveda & Yoga Conference in Australia.

He has taught and guided many prominent Physicians and Ayurvedic Practitioners all over the world. He is the research guide for several M.D and PhD Doctors and Practitioners in Ayurveda. Several schools in Ayurveda have been established and founded by him in various countries round the world, including Australia.

He is the chief editor of Deerghayu International magazine, (a quarterly research based journal on Ayurveda and other Health sciences) founded by in 1984.
