Hello. I'm Neena Nerkar and I'm a professional Ayurveda Therapist and Aromatherapist based in Cambridge, UK. Thank you for logging on to my website and sharing the love.
People have always commented that I look much younger than my years - I’m in my forties. Now you too can learn the secrets of my youthfulness and wellbeing. Of course, I owe a lot to my genes but also because I have always dabbled in making my own natural skin and hair care products and had an optimistic outlook on life. My friends and family would ask me to make products for them too. Now I am able to share my knowledge and tips to help you look and feel younger, healthier, and happier – inside and out - using the principles of Ayurvedic Love and Wisdom.
My love of plants and oils began in my teens when I would work with my father, a research chemist and pharmacist. Together we used to make up all sorts of concoctions. I went on to university to study Pharmacology and later enjoyed a successful career in television.
“ A former Television Presenter, Reporter and Film Maker, I've travelled the world and met hundreds of amazing, interesting people. What made me change career? A silly skiing accident gave me a wonderful opportunity to explore a new direction in my life. As I recovered from the injuries I began to learn how simple Ayurvedic philosophies can help us heal our bodies, mind and soul. Perhaps more importantly how Ayurveda can also predict and prevent many ailments and injuries from occurring in the first place. I hope to use this love and wisdom wisely to help you and as many other people as I can."
What makes Neena different from other therapists and skin care makers:
- Loving Outlook: I have years of knowledge and expertise to draw upon but most importantly I am motivated by love, not by material wealth or making a quick profit at the expense of others or our beautiful planet. I believe in truth and openess and my products reflect this honesty and commitment to the environment.
- East/West Harmony: I am able to combine western approaches to the eastern traditions of Ayurveda in a unique and, I think, rather wonderful way.
- Unique Education: I am blessed with having a guru called Professor P.H. Kulkarni. He comes from my home town in Pune, India. He's taken me under his wing, so unlike thousands of other students I am thrilled to say I have one-to-one tuition with one of the most distinguished and acclaimed Ayurvedic doctors in the world. I am able to observe hundreds of his patients and get clinical practice with some of his brightest graduates. The professor was once the Dean of The University of Pune Medical School - it's like the Cambridge University of India. Thanks to his love and guidance, I learn Ayurveda in the same way my forefathers have by word of mouth; thereby maintaining a tradition that has survived more than 5,000 years. I am on a quest to be an Ayurvedic Doctor - it is going to be a long, and interesting journey.
- Masters in Ayurvedic Medicine: I am currently studying towards a Masters Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine at Middlesex University in London. It is the only University in Europe to recognise the far reaching benefits of Ayurveda, students come from far and wide. I have embarked on this intensive course to give my lovely clients an even better health service and to comply with recent legislation governing herbal medicine.
